How often should I change my program?
When progress stalls or your goal changes; there is no need to switch on a fixed schedule.
“Muscle confusion” is not a mechanism. Swapping exercises often makes progress harder to track and costs you the skill you built in the old ones.
Some variation does help: a second exercise for the same muscle can train it more completely. And if a change keeps you motivated to show up, that is a good enough reason too.
