Does eating late make you fat?
Not by itself: total daily calories decide it, and late eating mainly matters if it leads you to eat more.
Late eating is linked to weight gain in observational data, largely because people who eat late tend to eat more in total. In a tightly controlled trial, eating the same meals later in the day made people hungrier and slightly lowered the energy they burned while awake, which could make a deficit harder to hold.
If eating in the evening helps you stay within your calories, it is fine.
